29 performances were given between 27 October and 31 December 1883 with Galli-Marié. A further 30 performances were given between 5 January and 23 April 1884 with Castagné as Carmen. Galli-Marié returned to give a further 21 performances until the end of the season, 5 May-28 June 1884. Carroul replaced Taskin as Escamillo for 36 of the performances between 20 January and 28 June 1884. Pigot (273-276) gives (generally reliable…) performance numbers at the Opéra-Comique by year until the end of 1897. The total number of performances, therefore between 27 October 1883 and the 31 December 1897 totals 634. Pigot does not give a figure for 1898, before Carré’s new production of 8 December 1898.
